Glasgow Canal Festival 2018

The second annual Glasgow Canal Festival hosted a bombastic lineup of exciting events on Glasgow’s iconic Forth & Clyde Canal between Spiers Wharf and Applecross Basin. Whether it was strolling through our makers’ market, soaking up some live music, trying your hand at stand-up paddle boarding, getting crafty in an arts workshop or sampling our street food village, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Key highlights of this year’s festival include the ever-popular Dragon Boat Racing, with competitors signing up to battle it out to become the Festival Dragon Boat Champions, and a whole programme of live musicians from Celtic Music Radio whose ‘pirate radio station’ will broadcast throughout the day.

Pinkston Water Sports held a canoe taster session; there was zorbing or face painting for all the family; a wildlife tour of urban nature reserve Hamiltonhill Claypits and breathtaking views over the city of Glasgow and world class parkour, skateboard and BMX performances at the first ever World Youth Urban Games.
